I recently came home to find one of my senior dogs couldn't stand. He would just collapse when I stood him up. I called my vet in a panic and even though I didn't have an appointment and them being booked they told me to bring him in.There are several vets in the practice but Dr. Gates is his regular vet and was getting ready to go to lunch. She gave up her lunch to care for my boy. She did a full exam x-rays and then came into the room and brought a chair to sit and talk to me and explain what was going on and treatment plan. She is so selfless and compassionate. I would trust her with my life. She is so knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things so you can understand. She has called me from home on her on time and just exemplifies excellence in the care she provides. She deserves to be recognized for the care she provides not just to my pets but everyone she comes into contact with. She understands that these are not just pets but members of the family. She works long hours and gives tirelessly and I can never thank her enough for being the person she is and for the superb job she does.

Oldtown Veterinary Hospital has been my practice of choice since 1991 and I have especially enjoyed working with Dr. Gates since her arrival in 1998. Through the years, she has provided capable, compassionate veterinary care for my two bulldogs, two Belgian sheepdogs--one of whom had epilepsy--a German shepherd dog and my current dog, a poodle mix. She is great with the dogs and has a wonderful way with clients as well. I recommend her and the practice highly.

The doctor cares a lot about my dog. When he first went to this vet he was in bad shape. Sparky was handed down to a few people before I got him. The dr. gave me things to help him and he is a great, healthy dog. The doctor worked miracles for Sparky.

We moved to the area 3 yrs ago. We had 3 dogs, our oldest, Zoey, was 14. About a week after we moved in Zoey got sick. A friend recommended Dr.Tayloe. We took Zoey to see her. Zoey died a week later and Dr.Tayloe took care of everything for no charge. We have been bringing our other 2 dogs to her ever since. She obviously loves her job. She takes time to explain things and to talk about any procedures that the dogs might need. In a month I will be moving again and Dr.Tayloe will be one of the people I miss most from this area.
